Importing a DAW Session

Summary

Our core design philosophy is to make the process of creating interactive music as frictionless as possible. Therefore, we do not require you to use any special plugins or export your music in any specific way. You simply create your music as you normally would, and Composer will take care of the rest.

We support importing your DAW session directly into Composer. This means you can simply drag and drop your DAW session into Composer, and it will automatically analyze your music and create a Reactional Theme.

Supported DAWs

Reactional Composer supports importing from a variety of DAWs. Currently Reaper is still preferred, but these others should work as well.

Cubase, Bitwig and Studio one are supported via the DAWProject file format. Please export / save your project in this format in order to load it into Composer.

Import

Drag and Drop

With Composer open, look to the top left corner of the window. You will see a button labeled "DAW projects." This should be opened by default, but if not, click this button to display the DAW project panel. Drag and drop your DAW session into this panel.

Preparation Stage

Composer will now analyze and prepare your music. This process can take a minute or so depending on the size of your project. You can see the progress in the info panel at the top. This step also converts the output of your VST3 plugins to our internal format, which is required for the rendering process.
